Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins

(𝘛𝘶𝘳𝘴𝘪𝘰𝘱𝘴 𝘢𝘥𝘶𝘯𝘤𝘶𝘴)

Locally known as "Deghs", Indo-Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins can occur in groups of 2-40 individuals. They are one of the common dolphin species in the UAE, along with the Finless Porpoise (𝘕𝘦𝘰𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘦𝘯𝘢 𝘱𝘩𝘰𝘤𝘢𝘦𝘯𝘰𝘪𝘥𝘦𝘴) and Indian Ocean Humpback Dolphin (𝘚𝘰𝘶𝘴𝘢 𝘱𝘭𝘶𝘮𝘣𝘦𝘢).

Socotra Cormorant

(𝘗𝘩𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘤𝘳𝘰𝘤𝘰𝘳𝘢𝘹 𝘯𝘪𝘨𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘶𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘪𝘴)

The cormorant is a regionally endemic seabird that can dive and stay underwater for up to 3 minutes. One colony in the northern region of the UAE, Siniya Island, hosts about 40% of the global breeding population.⁣

Teira Batfish

(𝘗𝘭𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘹 𝘵𝘦𝘪𝘳𝘢)
